Window graphics FAQ

A static cling is repositionable. A decal, on the other hand, has adhesive on the backside, which makes it unrepositionable.

Yes. There is more than one way to tackle this option so please ask your account manager for more details on your specific needs.

Perforated window film (window perf) is applied to the outside of the window so that it can be viewed from the outside. The outer graphic keeps people from seeing into the storefront, but from the inside, you can see everything outside.

Yes. Vector files are needed for cut vinyl. Typical vector file types are .ai, .eps, .pdf, .svg.

A vector file must come straight from the program that created the artwork. If your original design package did not come with all file types, including vectors, a
designer will need to create one. Before submitting art for your vinyl project, open it in your photo-viewing software and zoom way in. If you can see square pixels, or if it becomes blurred or pixelated, it’s a raster file. If that’s all you’ve got, go back to the source who created the graphic and request a vector file. YellowDog designers can also recreate your design as a vector, but that will add to your timeline and budget.

Vinyl window decals can be removed by using a razor glass scraper. Adhesive residue left behind can be removed with soapy water. Spraying the glass with soapy water and then using the scraper again on the residue works well.

Yes. We have two options for the etched-glass look. One has silver metallic flecks, and the other does not. This material is typically used for privacy on conference room glass but is not limited to that. It allows light to pass through, but anything on the other side of the glass will appear very vague and blurry.
